Lanolin Paint Underbody 2.5L Tin
This product is made and developed by Craig @Buzzweld HQ in Bristol. The product formulation is unique compared to other lanolin products on the market (this is the first lanolin underbody paint we are aware of).
The aim of this coating is to be fully customisable for any colour and provide a cost-effective alternative to other tintable underbody coatings available.
Product Pros
- Easy to use, especially for brushing
- Infused with lanolin for anti-corrosive protection
- Infused with zinc for additional anti-corrosive properties
- Affordable! We aim to make this product as cost-effective as possible while maintaining high-quality performance
- Ideal for topping up existing treatments, both new and old, and can be overcoated with Chassis Guard
- Compatible with all of our existing primers for extra protection (not required)
- Hydrophobic properties help shed water and minimise moisture build-up
- Available in any colour
- Excellent cavity treatment with strong rust penetration and creep (aerosols only)
Cons
- It is a budget underbody coating with good all-round performance.
- Not an excessively hard coating. While ideal for underbody use, some people prefer ultra-hard coatings that can chip. Lanolin Paint is designed to resist chipping where possible but may tarnish over time.
- Slow curing. Due to the reduced VOC content, this product takes around 6 hours to become touch-dry and ideally needs 24 hours before use.
- Solvent-based.
Usage
- Remove any mud, dirt, or contamination.
- Key and prepare the area to a dull finish.
- Stripe coat (see blog).
- Apply 2 or more coats to ensure full coverage with a good film build.
- We recommend visual inspections every 6–12 months for high-wear areas such as the backs of wheel arches and the rear quarter of most vehicles.
- Perfect coating to be overcoated with Chassis Guard once applied.
